Islamabad: President Islamabad Chambers of Commerce (ICC) Ahsan Bakhtawri has said that owing to the agreements with the International Power Producers factories are turning into the graveyards.
In his statement over heavy electricity bills, he said that behind the expensive electricity are wrong agreements
with the IPPs.
The President ICC demanded the government to review these agreements with the IPPs. He said that more than half of the IPPs plants are running on less then 50 percent production capacity.
Ahsan Bakhtawari said that the IPPs are being paid Rs 2 trillion for the capacity charges.
He also demanded the government to make pubic the data of the IPPs and also show their production of electricity and a record of payments.
