Faf du Plessis Given Charge To Lead SA ODI Team

Cape Town (September 12, 2017): The captain of South African Test and T-20 squads Faf du Plessis has also been given the charge to lead the national ODI team. Faf du Plessis is the captain of the World XI which will be playing first of the three T-20 Matches in Lahore today to bring back international cricket to Pakistan after almost nine years.

The captaincy of the ODI squad was left vacant after Plessis’ star colleague AB de Villiers vacated it due to what he said to pay his full attention to batting.Faf du Plessis was handed over the captaincy of national T-20 squad first and then in December last year he replaced de Villiers as the captain of national Test team.So far du Plessis has played 43 Test matches, 113 ODI matches, and 36 T-20 matches for South Africa.

He will take over the task of leading South African ODI squad next month against Bangladesh in the home series.
