FATA Reforms: Federal Government Initiates Consultation

Islamabad (May 19, 2018): Federal Government on Saturday once again kicked off the consultation on Federally Administrated Tribal Area (FATA) reforms bill, law advisor barrister Zafarullah Khan said the meeting of parliamentary leaders will held on Monday.

Sources said, PML N government is of the view that FATA reforms bill should be approved by the National Assembly and the Senate before the completion of its tenure.

Despite the official holiday parliamentary leaders held a meeting in parliament house, which was presided by law advisor Barrister Zafarullah khan, Senator Sherry Rehman of PPP, JI’s Sahibzada Tariq-u-llah, Qoumi Watan Pary Chief Aftab Sherpao, FATA member G G Jamal, and Sherry Mazari of PTI also attended the meeting.

Parliamentary leaders discussed the draft and text of FATA reforms bill, where as law advisor Barrister Zafarullah khan also briefed the parliamentary leaders on FATA bill.

While talking to journalists Barrister Zafarullah khan said there will important meeting on Monday which will be presided by speaker national assembly, the government will take opposition parties into confidence.
