ISLAMABAD: The dispute between information minister Fawad Chaudhry and Managing Director Pakistan Television has entered in the National Assembly when the issue was taken up by the standing committee on Tuesday.
The meeting of NA standing committee on information started with the chair of Javed Latif and attended by information minister Fawad Chaudhry, Marriyum Aurangzeb, secretary information, chairman PEMRA and others.
Members of the committee expressing concern over the absence of MD PTV termed it disgrace of the committee while chairman committee has issued orders to stop MD PTV for using powers.
After the meeting, members of the committee arrived at the protest of PTV employees. Talking protesters Marriyum said that information minister has taken U-turn from his promise to turn the state-owned organization into British Broadcasting like the institution.
