FBR presents its tax earning plan to IMF in talks held today

Islamabad: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) in its talks with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) on Friday, today presented its tax earning plan to the financial body.

The FBR in its negotiations with the IMF apprised it about reforms brought in the institution.

As per the plan, as many as 3.1 million retailers will be brought into the tax net while the FBR will achieve tax target of Rs 9415 billion for the current fiscal year.

The FBR apprises that from July to December tax collection condition was fulfilled.
Sources said that the measures for achieving current fiscal year targets were also apprised.

Sources said that the FBR apprised the IMF that the FBR restructuring of the FBR and structural changes have been brought in the FBR.

The FBR target for the current fiscal year’s first half yearly target was
4425, sources said.

The FBR collected a whopping amount of 4468 billion from July to December 2023, sources said.

A tax target of first eight months has also been achieved.

The FBR didn’t release any tax amnesty scheme in the current fiscal year. Whereas the FBR didn’t give any tax exemption in the current fiscal year.
