Karachi (August 17, 2018): Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has sealed the Shaheen airline office on Friday. It is first time in the history of Pakistan that any central office of corporate sector was sealed over nonpayment of tax.
According to details, FBR has issued final notice to Shaheen airline because it has not paid one billion 40 crores, FBR has made it clear that there will be no negotiations over payments.Shaheen airline receives Rs 5 thousand as federal excise duty from passengers, who travel abroad. while Rs 2500 hundred rupees are charged from domestic travelers but airline did not submit tax money to national exchequer.
Civil aviation authority has already banned domestic and international flights of shaheen airline; private airline was given special permission for hajj operations.
After this situation the return of hajj pilgrims seems in doldrums.
