Federal cabinet meeting underway to approve 2025-2026 finance bill

Islamabad: Meeting of the federal cabinet is underway in Islamabad with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif in the chair.

The federal cabinet is reviewing and approving the new Finance Amendment Bill for the upcoming fiscal year.

Finance Minister Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb will give a detailed briefing to the cabinet on the proposed changes in the bill. The Finance Amendment Bill is expected to include key tax adjustments, revenue targets, and spending plans, aimed at meeting IMF requirements and stabilizing the economy. After the presentation, the bill is likely to be approved and forwarded to the National Assembly for debate and passage.
