Islamabad: The federal government has ended a grant of minorities for welfare schemes in the budget of fiscal year 2024-2025.
As per the budget presented on Wednesday, no grant has been allocated for schemes of the minorities whereas in the last budget for fiscal year 2023-2024, the government has earmarked Rs 100 million for welfare schemes of the minorities.
The government has also ended a grant for social welfare measures in the budget. A grant for Pakistan Ideology Council Trust has been hiked from Rs five million to Rs 8 million in the budget.
The government has allocated a grant for Norani Foundation Boarding School of a sum of Rs 250 million.
In the same manner a grant for Hassan Abdal Cadet College has been hiked by Rs 250 million from Rs 70 million.
Moreover, the government has increased a grant for climate change conferences and forums Rs 150 million from Rs 20 million.
