Federal, Provincial Governments Violating EC CoC in NA-4

Peshawar (October 6, 2017): Despite Election Commission ban on development work in Peshawar NA-4, the constituency, in which by-poll will be held on October 26, the development projects are being initiated by the federal and provincial government, a sheer violation of the code of conduct set by the ECP.

The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) provincial member assembly Ishtiaq Armar has inaugurated the tube well in Shiekhan of NA-4. The solar powered tube well will be constructed with the cost of 11.3 million rupees.

The federal government is also busy in development work in NA-4 under PM advisor Amir Muqam as the projects of energy and gas being initiated by the federal government.NA 4: PTI, PML-N, PPP Submit Nomination PapersHowever, ECP claimed the Code of Conduct in the constituency being monitored.

The NA-4 seat fell vacant after the death of PTI’s Gulzar Khan, who had secured more than 55000 votes in the 2013 general elections followed by PML-N’s Musazai who bagged over 20,000 votes.

Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam–Fazl (JUI-F) has already withdrawn its candidate in favour of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) in constituency NA-4, Peshawar-IV by elections.
