Female CNICs, Voter Registration Campaign Launched

Islamabad (December 5, 2017): Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Sardar Muhammad Raza formally launched female Computerized National Identity Cards (CNICs) and voter registration campaign in Islamabad on Monday.

Speaking on the occasion, he said the campaign is aimed at decreasing the gap between male and female voters in the electoral rolls.

He said this gap is because of low females CNIC registration, and the campaign will target unregistered women in 79 districts throughout Pakistan.

Sardar Muhammad Raza said unregistered women will be mobilized and facilitated to acquire CNIC so that their names are added to electoral rolls.

He said the campaign is a collaborative effort of NADRA, ECP, and the civil society organizations working at grass-roots level and it will continue till April next year.
