Mansehra: A feud on conducting vehicle challan turned into lethal as unidentified persons shot dead policeman in Mansehra.
The incident took place near Beara Inter-Change in Mansehra.
The scuffle has broken out over conducting a challan of a car and the feud ensued so tense that unidentified persons sprayed bullets on police personnel which resulted into death of a policeman and two others injured.
During the exchange of gunfire, Inspector Aamir Shahid, an officer of the Highway Police, lost his life, while Constable Naveed sustained injuries.
According to the police, the incident occurred when a vehicle coming from Peshawar was stopped for violating traffic regulations at a toll booth.
The deceased inspector and the injured personnel have been transferred to King Abdullah Hospital in Mansehra for medical treatment.
The accused car riders were run away from the scene while the police have cordoned off the area in search of the accused.
Additionally, several checkpoints have been set up in different locations as part of the ongoing investigation.
