ISLAMABAD: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has escalated efforts in a high-profile corruption case by initiating an assets beyond means inquiry against Najaf Hameed, brother of former DG ISI Faiz Hameed.
The FIA Anti-Corruption Cell has formally started investigating Najaf over accusations of owning assets beyond his known income sources. Authorities have requested detailed financial and asset records from relevant institutions to verify if his declared assets align with his earnings.
Despite conducting multiple raids, Najaf has not yet been apprehended. His name has been added to the Provisional National Identification List to prevent him from leaving the country during the investigation. Earlier, Najaf’s interim bail was canceled in connection with the Razi scandal, intensifying the urgency of operations.
The investigation continues, with the FIA planning further action based on findings. Officials reaffirm their commitment to ensuring accountability in line with legal standards, regardless of affiliations.
