ISTANBUL: Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir met with Turkish Defense Minister Yasar Guler, where discussions were held on defense cooperation and military relations between the two countries.
According to Turkish media, Commander of the Turkish Land Forces, General Selçuk Bayraktaroğlu, was also present in the meeting with Field Marshal Asim Munir.Earlier, a separate bilateral meeting was held between General Bayraktaroğlu and General Asim Munir, during which they discussed strengthening mutual defense collaboration and military ties.
In an official statement, the Turkish Ministry of Defense described Pakistan as a “brother country” and highlighted the historical and strategic importance of bilateral relations.It is worth mentioning that Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is currently on a visit to Türkiye, where he met Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan in Istanbul.
The meeting in Istanbul was held in a very cordial atmosphere, reaffirming the deep, historic, and brotherly ties between Pakistan and Türkiye.
On this occasion, Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, Information Minister Atta Tarar, Field Marshal Asim Munir, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Tariq Fatemi, and Pakistan’s Ambassador to Türkiye, Dr. Yousaf Junaid, were also present.
