Field Marshal Munir receives King Abdulaziz Medal for strengthening Pak-Saudi defence ties

RAWALPINDI: Field Marshal Asim Munir, Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces, received Saudi Arabia’s highest national honor, the King Abdulaziz Medal of Excellent Class. This award recognizes his pivotal role in enhancing defence ties, strategic coordination, and institutional collaboration between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.

The medal was presented by Prince Khalid bin Salman, Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Defence, during Field Marshal Munir’s official visit, according to a statement from the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR).

Both sides discussed mutual interests, including regional security, military cooperation, strategic partnerships, and emerging geopolitical challenges, reaffirming the strong historical and brotherly connection between the two nations.

The ISPR highlighted that the honor reflects Field Marshal Munir’s distinguished military leadership and contributions toward regional peace, counter-terrorism efforts, and stability. Saudi leaders praised his professionalism and commitment to bolstering ties between the countries.

Expressing gratitude to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and Saudi leadership, Field Marshal Munir emphasized Pakistan’s dedication to Saudi Arabia’s security, stability, and prosperity.

This recognition underscores the deep-rooted partnership between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia and their shared resolve to enhance strategic collaboration for regional and global peace.
