Tri-nation series final to be played today b/w Pak, Kivi’s in Karachi

Karachi: The final of Tri-Nation One Day International series will be played between Pakistan and New Zealand in Karachi on Friday, today.

The match will be played at National Stadium Karachi where Pakistan clinched superb victory against South Africa.

The match will start at 2:00 pm Pakistan Standard Time.

Expressing his thoughts on Thursday ahead of the fourth and final match of the tri-nation series, the Kivi’s captain Santner acknowledged the Pakistan’s performance in their last outing against South Africa at the Karachi stadium.

“Pakistan has done a good thing. The wicket at the Karachi stadium will be new. Maybe there will be another high-scoring match,” said Santner.

He said, “Our team took plenty of rest after Monday’s game against South Africa.”

“As a bowler, you can only deliver a ball,” he said.

“Yesterday, Salman Ali Agha had done the same thing,” said Santner.

He lavished his praise on senior New Zealand batter Kane Williamson, saying, “Kane Williamson has proved that he is a great batter. It is a good omen for us that Williamson is in form.”

“Kane Williamson’s form will be beneficial for us in the forthcoming Champions Trophy,” said Santner.

On the other side, both the captains had posed for the photos ahead of the final of the tri-nation series.

Pakistan had sealed the tri-nation series final spot by dismantling South Africa in a high-scoring match, with Salman Ali Agha and Mohammad Rizwan notching centuries each.

both teams are expected to stick with their Playing 11s. New Zealand are not in a position to rush back Rachin Ravindra, who was hit on the face while attempting a catch in the tri-series’ first match. 

Meanwhile, Pakistan pacer Haris Rauf remains unavailable for selection.
