Finance Ministry Revises Special Family Pension Rules to Ensure Proper Implementation

ISLAMABAD: The Finance Ministry has announced significant revisions to the Special Family Pension rules, with a focus on ensuring accurate and transparent disbursement across all government departments.

As per the official notification from the Finance Division, the new rules specify that family members of individuals who attain martyrdom while serving in these capacities will be entitled to receive the Special Family Pension for a period of 25 years. This change aims to streamline the process and ensure that the benefit reaches those directly impacted by the sacrifices of military and civil armed forces personnel.

The Finance Ministry further clarified that this revision is part of an ongoing effort to modernize and update pension policies for government employees. To ensure effective implementation, a comprehensive office memorandum has been issued to guide all relevant departments in properly executing these updates and ensuring that eligible families receive the support they are entitled to.

This move underscores the government’s commitment to recognizing and honoring the sacrifices made by those who serve in critical roles to protect the nation, while also ensuring that the pension system remains focused and efficient.
