ISLAMABAD: Federal Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb is presenting the budget for the fiscal year 2025-26 in the National Assembly. The session, chaired by Speaker Ayaz Sadiq, began with the minister’s speech amid ongoing protests from the opposition.
During his address, Finance Minister Aurangzeb highlighted that this budget is being presented at a very significant and historic moment. He praised the nation for demonstrating unity during the recent India-Pakistan conflict and congratulated the military and political leadership on their success. He also noted that Pakistan’s standing in the international community has been elevated.
The minister emphasized that with national resolve and unity, the focus now is on economic development. He stated that economic stability has been achieved through reforms, with significant efforts to improve the economy. He highlighted notable reductions in inflation and mentioned that remittances have reached $36 billion over the past ten months.
