ISLAMABAD: During the post-budget press conference of Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb, journalists staged a protest walkout.
The press conference was attended by the finance minister and other relevant officials, but journalists refused to participate after being denied technical details related to the budget.
The journalists stated that, for the past 20 years, a special technical briefing has been held after each budget, but this year the government broke this tradition. This decision sparked anger and frustration among the journalists.
Following this situation, the finance minister directed officials to persuade the journalists to attend, but efforts by the Information Minister and the Press Information Officers also failed to succeed. The journalists’ protest and boycott have become a topic of discussion among the public and media circles.
