LAHORE: A fire that broke out in the basement of a hotel located in Lahore’s Gulberg area on Monday left three individuals injured, prompting an immediate emergency response.
Punjab Chief Secretary Zahid Zaman Akhtar and Deputy Commissioner Captain (retd) Ali Ijaz arrived at the scene to supervise rescue and relief activities. Officials confirmed that firefighting teams managed to contain the blaze to the basement, preventing it from spreading further.
Rescue authorities stated that all 180 occupants inside the hotel were safely evacuated, with no one remaining trapped in the building. Among the injured, one person suffered critical burn injuries and was shifted to a hospital for urgent medical care.
Eyewitness Humayun, who was staying on the 14th floor at the time, recounted that he evacuated using the stairwell after sensing the danger. He added that no injuries were reported from guests on the upper floors.
