CALIFORNIA: Efforts to control the fires in various areas of Los Angeles, California, are ongoing, but meanwhile, fires have erupted at five more locations in Southern California.
According to foreign media, on Thursday, fires broke out in five locations across Los Angeles, San Diego, Ventura, and Riverside counties, which have been named Laguna, Sepulveda, Gable, Gilman, and Border 2 fires.
Local media reports that firefighters have made progress in controlling the Hughes Fire, which spread across 10,000 acres in Los Angeles, and as of Wednesday, 36% of the fire has been contained.
Meanwhile, U.S. President Donald Trump is scheduled to visit Los Angeles today to assess the damage caused by the fires.
In his response to the fires in Los Angeles, Trump warned that if the California government does not change its water supply management, federal aid could be withheld. He accused California Governor Gavin Newsom of obstructing the water supply in rivers to protect a fish species, which has caused issues in providing water for firefighting efforts.
It is worth noting that the fires, which began in various parts of Los Angeles on January 7, have already scorched over 40,000 acres, and as a result, 28 people have lost their lives.
