Hajj Op Begins: First Flights Leave Islamabad, Faisalabad, Karachi

Islamabad (July 24, 2017): The Hajj operation has begun with first flights carrying pilgrims departing for Saudi Arabia from federal capital Islamabad, Faisalabad, and Karachi.

The Hajj first Haj flight carrying 328 pilgrims left for Madina-e-Munawwara from Islamabad Airport here.

A ceremony in the honor of the pilgrims proceeding to Saudi Arabia for Haj on the first ever Haj flight from the federal capital here was organized by Ministry of Religious Affairs.

Addressing the ceremony federal Minister for Religious Affairs Sardar Yusuf ask the pilgrims to give priority to prayers and avoid taking anything prohibited with them.

 

Saying that the government has made exemplary and the best arrangements for the pilgrims the minister said that better services are being made available to pilgrims this year compared to last year. The government has also made arrangement for two meals a day for pilgrims during their stay in Mina.

The minister asked the pilgrims to approach complaint cell set up in Madina-e-Munawwara in case of any problem.Sardar Yusuf sent off the pilgrims from the Islamabad airport last night. As per flight schedule 1,954 pilgrims will be flown to Saudi Arabia from Islamabad aboard eight flights today.

Meanwhile, this morning a private airline flight carrying over 300 pilgrims departed Karachi for Jeddah. The flight LN100 left karachi at 6 o’clock this morning for Jeddah. Special counters were set-up for the convenience of pilgrims while stringent security arrangements were also in place at the Karachi airport.

It may be mentioned here that Shaheen Airlines’ Flight No. 165 departed Faisalabad around 5 o’clock this morning with 165 pilgrims aboard. This was the first Haj flight from Faisalabad. According to Airport Manager Faisalabad a total of 4,600 pilgrims will be flown to Saudi Arabia aboard 30 flights.
