First Pak-Ireland ODI on Thursday

The first ODI match between Pakistan and Ireland will be played on Thursday. Ireland had secured an upset win over Pakistan in 2007 World Cup.

Pakistan will play two ODI matches against Ireland prior to playing five-match ODI series against England which will start on August 24. The matches will begin at 2:45 pm Pakistan time. Pakistan squad has arrived in Dublin for the series.

Pakistan and Ireland have played six ODI matches thus far, four of which Pakistan had won, one was won by Ireland while the fifth was a draw. The two teams first clashed in 2007 World Cup in which Pakistan made 132 runs and Ireland won by three wickets. After this match Pakistan coach Bob Woolmer was found dead in his room.

The two sides played two ODI matches in 2011. Pakistan had won both the matches. In 2013 Pakistan played two ODI matches against Ireland, it won one and tied the second.

The two sides clashed in 2015 World Cup. Pakistan won the match easily riding on a fine century by Sarfraz Ahmad.
