KARACHI: In a joint operation in Lyari area of Karachi, Rangers and police arrested five accused involved in murder and extortion.
According to a Rangers spokesman, Rangers and police arrested five suspects from Lyari, from whose possession illegal weapons and hand grenades were recovered. One civilian was killed and a case was registered at Kalri police station.
Accused Sarwar Baloch admitted that he was associated with Lyari gang war from 2009 to 2013. According to a Rangers spokesman, the accused was involved in extortion, drug trafficking and gang warfare. The accused had fled inside Sindh as soon as the Karachi operation started in 2013.
