Karachi: Apprising the damages incurred owing to catastrophe of heavy rains and floods, Information and Transport Minister of Sindh Sharjeel Memon said that as per the initial estimate as many as worth of Rs 860 billion were lost in the floods in Sindh.
The provincial information minister informed that 1.5 million houses were affected and 11 thousands animals were died.
Crops spread to more than 31,71000 lands were destroyed adding that roads of length more than 2000 km comprising 570 roads were affected from the horrific floods in Sindh.
The damages incurred in Karachi were estimated to more than Rs 50 billion, Sharjeel said.
He said that grants for losses of houses and crops will be approved.
The PPP leader said that the Sindh government will take measures to delay return of agriculture loans up to one year and writing off the mark up on the loans.
Farmers will be provided subsidiary on machinery and other things, he added.
