FM Qureshi Telephones Swiss and Ivory Coast Counterparts To Highlight Situation In IOK

ISLAMABAD: Continuing efforts to highlight the grave situation of occupied Kashmir after India revoking of its special status, Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi today held a telephonic conversation with his Swiss, Ivory Coast counterparts.

Foreign Minister apprised his Swiss counterpart Ignazio Cassis about India’s unilateral step in Occupied Jammu and Kashmir and its impacts.

He said there has been a complete lockdown by India in Occupied Jammu and Kashmir since 5th of this month.

Shah Mahmood Qureshi expressed serious apprehensions over the reports coming in by international media and human rights organizations.

He said India’s unilateral steps in Occupied Kashmir are a clear violation of international laws and UN Security Council resolutions.

Swiss Foreign Minister expressing serious concern over the issue said his country is reviewing the situation.

He urged the stakeholders to resolve the issues through dialogue to end tension in the region.

Shah Mehmood Qureshi said these actions are an open violation of international laws and UNSC resolutions.

Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi also held a telephonic contact with his Ivory Coastian counterpart Marcel Amon-Tanoh and apprised him of gross human rights violations in Occupied Kashmir by Indian forces.

The foreign minister said a new human tragedy is unfolding after unilateral steps of India.

Shah Mehmood Qureshi said Pakistan considers Ivory Coast an important country of West Africa. He urged the Ivory Coastian side to play its role in stopping the serious human rights abuses in held Kashmir being a member of the UN Security Council.

They also discussed issues of mutual interest including the grave situation of Occupied Kashmir.

Marcel Amon-Tanoh said his country is closely watching the situation and being a member of the UN Security Council, it will cooperate.
