LAHORE: The American magazine Forbes has lauded the Punjab government’s Clean and Green Program, calling it a remarkable achievement.
According to Forbes, the Clean and Green Program has become the world’s largest coordinated waste collection system, effectively addressing waste management issues across the province within just eight months.
The report highlights that under this initiative, approximately 50,000 tons of waste are collected daily, leading to cleaner streets and a significant reduction in pollution levels.
Forbes also noted that the program has created over one lakh jobs and provided millions of residents with their first-ever formal waste disposal service.
The initiative was showcased at COP30, where it was recognized globally as a model of “Integrated Waste and Climate Action.”
The report emphasized that this project offers valuable lessons for world leaders and demonstrates how innovative waste management can contribute to environmental sustainability and economic growth.
