Former Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh passes away at the age of 92.

WEB DESK: Late Senior Congress leader and former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh has Passed away owing to prolong illness.

According to Indian media, economist Manmohan Singh served as the Prime Minister of India from 2004 to 2014. Reports state that the senior Congress leader was admitted to a hospital in New Delhi after his health deteriorated. His health had been in decline for the past few days.

It is worth noting that Manmohan Singh, India’s first Sikh Prime Minister, was born in 1932 in a village called ‘Gah’ in Pakistan’s Chakwal district, where he studied up to the fourth grade. After the partition of Pakistan and India, his family migrated to India, where he pursued higher education.

He earned degrees in economics from Britain’s Oxford and Cambridge universities, including a Master’s degree in Economics and a Doctor of Letters (D.Litt.). Additionally, several universities awarded him honorary doctorate degrees.

Representing the Congress party, he served as India’s Prime Minister from 2004 to 2014. His economic policies are considered instrumental in driving India’s economic growth.
