SAHIWAL: Former member of the National Assembly Chaudhry Muhammad Ashraf has passed away at the age of 90, family sources confirmed.
According to the family, his funeral prayer will be held at 10am on Saturday, September 26, at Masjid Shuhada in Farid Town, Sahiwal.
Ashraf was a veteran Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) politician and was known for his longstanding association with former prime minister Nawaz Sharif.
He represented the PML-N in the National Assembly on four occasions and also held the position of parliamentary secretary for education.
The veteran parliamentarian was also a member of the Pakistan Bar Council and served as chairman of the National Assembly’s Standing Committee on Law and Justice.
