Former Senator Mushtaq Ahmed arrives in Islamabad after being released from Israeli custody

ISLAMABAD: Former Senator Mushtaq Ahmed has returned to Islamabad after being released from Israeli custody. He was part of the Global Samud Flotilla that was delivering humanitarian aid to Gaza.

After his release from Israeli detention, Mushtaq Ahmed Khan first arrived in Jordan and then traveled to Pakistan. Today, he landed at Islamabad Airport on a Gulf Air flight from Oman.

The Pakistani embassy in Jordan shared an update via the social media platform X last night, confirming that Mushtaq Ahmed Khan, who had been detained by Israel following the interception of the flotilla, was on his way back to Pakistan safely.

A spokesperson for the Foreign Office stated that Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar contacted Jordan’s Deputy Prime Minister Ayman al-Safadi to express gratitude for Jordan’s assistance in facilitating Mushtaq Ahmed’s safe return via Oman.
