Four Judges of IHC decide to challenge 27th constitutional amendment in Supreme Court

ISLAMABAD: Four judges of the Islamabad High Court have decided to challenge the 27th Constitutional Amendment in the Supreme Court. 

Sources indicate that a draft petition against the constitutional amendment has been prepared by these judges. According to reports, Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani, Justice Babar Sattar, Justice Suman Rifat Imtiaz, and Justice Sardar Ijaz Iqbal Khan are among the petitioners.

It is further reported that these four judges, including Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani, will contest the validity of the 27th Amendment. The draft challenging the amendment has already been sent to the Supreme Court, and the challenge is expected to be filed today.

On the other hand, sources from the Supreme Court have stated that, so far, no petition against the 27th Amendment has been filed in the Supreme Court by any High Court judges. Additionally, sources from the Federal Constitutional Court confirm that no petitions challenging the 27th Amendment have been submitted to the Federal Constitutional Court either.
