Four Member Medial Board To Examine Nawaz Sharif Today

Rawalpindi (July 23, 2018): Former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif is not being shifted to PIMS, a four-member medical board constituted by PIMS administration will carry out his medical checkup at the Adyala Jail today (Monday).

Nawaz Sharif reportedly fell ill at the Adyala Jail on Sunday. Sources said that Nawaz Sharif is facing multiple health issues as the former prime minister is suffering from heart, glyceride, cholesterol and diabetes.

Sources further informed that four-member medical board comprising cardiologist Dr Naeem Malik, Medical Specialist Dr. Shaji Siddiqui, neurologist Dr Sohail Tanvir and Dr Mashood will examine Nawaz Sharif today.

Earlier, Doctors at Adiala Jail have requested authorities to shift former prime minister Nawaz Sharif to hospital from Adyala Jail, citing his ill health.Meanwhile, the caretaker government in Punjab has received an application to transfer Nawaz Sharif to the hospital. Sources said that the final decision in this regard will be taken by the Interior Ministry.

On the other hand, caretaker Punjab chief minister Dr Hasan Askari Rizvi chaired a high level meeting to review application to shift ailing Nawaz Sharif to hospital. According to sources, the decision to shift Nawaz to any hospital will be taken today.Doctors Recommend To Shift Nawaz To Hospital ImmediatelyEarlier on Sunday, former prime minister Nawaz Sharif was reportedly ‘on the verge of kidney failure’ and a medical board has recommended his immediate transfer from Adyala jail to a hospital.

Urea nitrogen in Sharif’s blood had risen to a dangerous level, and he is suffering from excessive sweating and dehydration due to humidity in the prison. His heartbeat is also irregular, said sources.

A source in caretaker government, however, said Sharif is medically examined in Adyala jail on a regular basis and his medical tests appear normal.

If physicians, who examine Sharif, officially recommend his treatment in a hospital, a medical board would be constituted to examine the ex-PM’s health and action would be taken in the light of related recommendations of the board, the official said.
