Four militants, including TTP deputy, killed in Bajaur operation

ISLAMABAD: Security forces successfully thwarted an infiltration attempt along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border, neutralizing four terrorists, including a high-profile commander of the Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP).

In a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), it was confirmed that during an operation in Bajaur, security personnel eliminated four foreign militants, among them the significant external commander Amjad Amjad alias Mazahim.

According to ISPR, Amjad, who was the deputy to Noor Wali and a leading figure in the leadership council of the India-backed group Fitnah al-Khawarij, had been a top target for law enforcement agencies. A bounty of five million rupees had been placed on his capture.

The military spokesperson stated that Amjad had been orchestrating multiple terrorist activities within Pakistan while operating out of Afghanistan. He further highlighted that the leadership of Fitnah al-Khawarij has been leveraging Afghan territory to plan and execute infiltrations into Pakistan.

The statement called on interim Afghan authorities to take decisive action in preventing foreign proxies from utilizing Afghan soil as a base for terrorism against Pakistan. It emphasized that this incident is yet another indication of Fitnah al-Khawarij members repeatedly finding safe havens in Afghanistan to conduct their operations against Pakistan.

ISPR reiterated that Pakistan’s security forces remain resolute in safeguarding national borders and are actively carrying out area sanitization measures to eliminate any remaining India-sponsored foreign militants.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif commended the security forces for their achievements in Bajaur, where the high-value external commander Amjad and three other militants were eliminated.

He acknowledged their professional expertise in dismantling threats to Pakistan’s sovereignty and praised their ability to foil the malicious plans of those endangering peace in the country. He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to eradicating terrorism and ensuring the safety and security of Pakistani citizens.
