RAWALPINDI: The security forces have killed at least four terrorists during an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in Tank district, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) reported on Monday.

The military’s media wing added that the militants were involved in numerous terrorist activities in the area. “Weapons and ammunition were also recovered from them.”

According to the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) statement, “On night 28/29 April 2024, security forces conducted an intelligence-based operation in Tank district on reported presence of terrorists. Own troops effectively engaged the terrorists’ location as a result of which four terrorists were sent to hell,”

The media wing said residents of the area appreciated the operation by the security forces, who remained determined to eliminate the menace of terrorism from the country.

In another operation conducted a day ago, the ISPR had reported that two terrorists involved in target killing and extortion were shot dead during an intense exchange of fire between militants and security forces in Dera Ismail Khan District of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

The security forces had conducted an IBO in Dera Ismail Khan on reported presence of terrorists on April 28, the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a statement.

The brief statement issued by the military’s media wing had stated that weapons, ammunition and explosives were also recovered from the slain terrorists, who remained actively involved in numerous terrorist activities against the security forces and innocent civilians via target killings and extortion.

Earlier on Saturday, Sessions Judge Shakirullah Marwat, stationed in South Waziristan, was kidnapped by unidentified kidnappers near a village located at the junction of Tank and Dera districts on Dera Ismail Khan’s Tank Road.

He returned home safely earlier today, the Counter-Terrorism Department CTD) confirmed. The police added that the judge was recovered without making any deal with the kidnappers.
