From celestial heights to aquatic depths, astronauts return after nine months

WEB DESK: After spending 9 months stranded on the International Space Station, two American astronauts landed in the deep sea, not only humans but also the dolphins celebrated their arrival on earth with joy.

American astronaut Bouch Wilmore and Indian-American astronaut Sunita Williams arrived at the ISS in June 2024, where they were scheduled to stay for 8 days. However, due to a technical malfunction on the spacecraft, they were forced to remain at the station for 9 months.

NASA decided to keep the astronauts at the International Space Station, and it was announced that their return would be on a SpaceX Dragon spacecraft, which has now been confirmed.

Two more astronauts from NASA have returned with them from the International Space Station. According to foreign media reports, SpaceX’s Dragon capsule safely landed in the ocean near the coast of Florida, carrying the American astronauts.

NASA presented live scenes from around the world. During this moment, all the scientists in NASA’s control room had their eyes glued to the screen. Dolphins in the ocean welcomed the astronauts with their unique style.

The astronauts took about 17 hours to travel from the International Space Station to Earth.

Upon their return, the astronauts greatly enjoyed the mission, with Sunita Williams calling the space station her favorite place.

Elon Musk, the founder of SpaceX, thanked former President Donald Trump for his support in the mission, while accusing former President Joe Biden of not making any serious efforts for the astronauts’ return. However, NASA rejected these claims.

While everyone’s eyes were focused on this mission, there was also an important question to consider: how much salary NASA would pay astronauts for such a long stint in space.

Since NASA employees are generally considered federal employees and do not receive overtime pay, Sunita Williams and Mr. Butch Wilmore will receive a modest salary for their extended stay on the ISS, which could range between $93,850 and $122,000.
