PESHAWAR: Former Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Ali Amin Gandapur, has addressed the ongoing controversy surrounding PTI social media activist Sanam Javed, providing clarification on her movements and the allegations against him.

Gandapur explained that Sanam Javed had resided at both the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa House and the Chief Minister’s House for a period of two months. He stated that she left without notifying him, which led to misunderstandings and unfounded accusations.

He further claimed that the lack of security during her outings was exploited in an alleged abduction attempt, resulting in his wrongful implication in the case. Gandapur mentioned that a formal FIR was registered, naming her friend as well, but argued that the full details were not disclosed, leading to misinterpretation.

The ex-CM urged the public to refrain from jumping to conclusions without thorough investigation, emphasizing that “making judgments without proper inquiry contradicts Islamic principles.”

Alleged Kidnapping of Sanam Javed

On October 7, 2025, police filed an FIR at Sharqi Police Station in Peshawar regarding the alleged kidnapping of PTI activist Sanam Javed. The case was registered on behalf of Advocate Hira Babar.

The spokesperson for the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister confirmed that the authorities were taking the matter seriously and had ordered an impartial investigation. He assured that those responsible for the incident would be arrested promptly and that all findings would be made transparent.

In a statement posted on X (formerly Twitter), PTI’s Information Secretary, Sheikh Waqas Akram, claimed that Sanam Javed was forcibly abducted from Peshawar. He described how two vehicles blocked her car on a busy highway, and she was pulled out in front of her friends before being taken away.
