Karachi: The gas crisis in Sindh has intensified as Sui Southern Gas Cooperation (SSGC) said that it is facing shortage of 250 MMCFD while the federal government has been informed about the shortage.
The SSGC officials hold hurriedly called press conference over the escalating gas crisis.
Acting Deputy Managing Director SSGC Zulfiqar Larak said that the organization has been facing shortage of generation of natural gas for many years adding that severe cold current year made the crisis worst.
He said that in view of shortage of gas supply Capto Powers were requested 50 percent cut off but industrialists didn’t cooperate.
He said that we compelled to close gas supply to capto powers, industries and non exporters industries.
Acting MD said that we must have to switch to alternative energy while he urged the industries to cooperate with the SSGC adding that providing gas to residential customers is our priority.
