WEB DESK: Gaza is experiencing extreme cold, leaving residents without access to many basic necessities. A young girl reportedly lost her life due to the harsh winter conditions.
The freezing temperatures have worsened the living conditions for Palestinians, with Israeli restrictions and shortages of essential services preventing the arrival of humanitarian aid. Children and other vulnerable groups are particularly affected. The fatality occurred in the Al-Nuseirat refugee camp.
Elsewhere, in the West Bank city of Nablus, several Palestinian families were reportedly forced out of their homes by Israeli authorities during the freezing night. In northern Gaza, an Israeli military action led to the death of a Palestinian child.
On the humanitarian side, Hollywood star and UNHCR goodwill ambassador Angelina Jolie visited the Rafah border crossing between Egypt and Gaza. She reviewed the distribution of aid and essential services, toured a local hospital, met with injured patients, and spoke with local officials about the crisis.
