Lahore (February 14, 2018): A Government College (GC) University Professor Tanzeem Akber Cheema was on Wednesday killed by unidentified men during a robbery bid in Lahore.

According to police, the professor was stopped by unidentified men to loot his belongings and was killed when he tried to resist to the robbery bid.

The professor sustained two bullets with one on his leg and the other on the chest and succumbed to his injuries while on his way to the Jinnah hospital. The robbers were easily able to fled the scene after the incident.

It is pertinent to mention here that Tanzeem Akber Cheema was a professor in Botany department and his body was shifted to morgue for further medico-legal formalities.

The Gulberg police registered a FIR against unidentified culprits and initiated investigation process to nab them.

The Chief Minster Punjab Shahbaz Sharif also took notice of the incident and directed the CCPO Lahore to submit report of the incident. He also directed to arrest the culprits as soon as possible.
