General Elections 2018: Shahbaz Sharif Reaches Karachi

Karachi(June 25, 2018): PML-N President and former CM Punjab, Shahbaz Sharif on Monday reached Karachi on two days visit in connection with the election campaign.

According to the schedule finalized by PML-N Sindh, Shahbaz Sharif will visit FPCCI, later Mifftah Ismail will host lunch in honor of the party chief.

Shahbaz Sharif will visit his constituency of NA 249 at 9pm along with Mifftah Ismail.

PML-N President will meet traders on June 26, while he will also address media along with Mushahid Hussain Syed on the same day.

Fazlur Rehman Calls For Imposition of Islamic System:

Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal (MMA) leader Maulana Fazlur Rehman claimed that the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s economy has been completely destroyed by the previous provincial government.

Addressing a public rally at Ring road, Rehman said that the PTI government indebted the people of the province by Rs325 billion.

“The Muslim world looks towards Pakistan for the resolution of persisting issues,” he said to a charged crowd, adding, “change will only come if we  raise the flag of Islam in country.”

The Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam F chief also congratulated Tayyap Erdogan on the recently-held polls in Turkey.

Earlier Jamaat-e-Islami Chief Siraj-ul-Haq addressed the gathering, saying that the public needs to get the country rid of corrupt mafia through vote.

He said that the leaders of the parties included in the coalition don’t have their names in Panama.

The JI emir said that the National Accountability Bureau failed to hold accountable corrupt people and now public will do it.

Siraj said that the coalition will implement Shariah in the country even if its given a-day to govern the country.

“We need real democracy here not a Lotacracy,” he said.

PML-N Govt Leaves Country in Financial Debacle: Imran Khan

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran said that the Sharifs’ government left Pakistan in a financial debacle due to massive borrowing.

While addressing the public meeting in Mianwali, Imran said, “In 2013, Pakistan’s foreign debt stood at USD13 billion which increased to 27, 000 billion rupees in the next five year.”

Khan has kicked off his party’s campaign for the general elections 2018 from his home constituency Mianwali.Addressing a gathering of supporters on Sunday, Imran Khan said that he chose Mianwali to start his election campaign because he had started his political career from this place.

He said that both the PPP and PML-N had awarded ticket to their relatives. “My relatives were asking for ticket in Mianwala. I was under immense pressure but yet I did not budge,” he said .PTI has become the largest political party of Pakistan, he said. He lashed out at former interior minister Ahsan Iqbal for calling PTI an inexperienced party.

He said that children of Nawaz Sharif, Shehbaz Sharif and Ishaq Dar have become billionaires without doing anything. The PTI chief accused Sharif family of spending Rs40 billion on advertisements to hide their corruption.He said that Nawaz Sharif had failed to produce money trail of his properties in London. “Instead of giving the money trail, Nawaz Sharif launched ‘mujhe kyun’ nikala,” he said. “We are now trying to oust you, Mian saheb, we’re trying to put you in jail,” Imran added.

PML-N Issues List of Candidates For National Assembly SeatsFinally, PML-N, which was facing numerous defections announced the party candidates for the upcoming election 2018.

The PML-N chief Shehbaz Sharif announced the decision after holding a consultative party meeting in Lahore.

The meeting was attended by former speaker NA Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, Khawaja Saad Rafique, Rana Sanaullah, Ghulam Dastgir and other senior leaders.

According to the list issued by the party, Khawaja Asif will contest election from NA-73 Sialkot, Rana Sanaullah from NA-106 Faisalabad, Abid Sher Ali from NA-108 Faisalabad, Ahsan Iqbal from NA-78 Narowal.PML-N’s Malik Pervaiz will face off Dr Yasmin Rashid of the PTI in NA-125. PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif and Begum Kulsoom Nawaz have won elections from the constituency, previously known as NA-120.

Mehar Ishtiaq Ahmad of the PML-N will contest the polls against PTI’s Hammad Azhar from NA-126, previously known as NA-121.

In NA-128, the PML-N has fielded Sheikh Rohail Asghar against PTI’s Ijaz Ahmed Dayal. Rohail has won the election from the constituency, previously known as NA-124.PML-N’s Sohail Shaukat Butt will face off PTI’s Abdul Aleem Khan from NA-129. The constituency, previously known as NA-125, has seen PML-N’s Khawaja Saad Rafique emerging victorious in 2013 election.

The party has fielded Khawaja Ahmed Hassan against PTI’s Shafqat Mahmood in NA-130, previously known as NA-126. Mahmood won the polls from the constituency in 2013.

PML-N President Shehbaz Sharif will contest the polls from NA-132, previously won by PML-N’s Sohail Shaukat Butt in 2013. Shehbaz will be up against PTI’s Ch Mohammad Mansha Sandhu.PML-N’s Rana Mubashir will face off PTI’s Malik Zaheer Abbas Khokhar in NA-134. In 2013, Shehbaz Sharif had won the polls from the constituency, then known as NA-129.

The PML-N has fielded Saif-al-Mulk Khokhar against Karamat Ali Khokhar of the PTI in NA-135. PML-N’s Afzal Khokhar had won the 2013 polls from the constituency, then known as NA-128.

Afzal Khokhar of the Nawaz-league will contest the polls from NA-136, previously also known as NA-128. He would be up against PTI’s Khalid Gujjar or Malik Asad Ali.

Hamza Shehbaz contest election from NA-124, Khawaja Saad Rafique NA-131, Mayram Nawaz from NA-127 as She will also contest from PP-173 Lahore.
