ISLAMABAD: German Development Bank will provide grant assistance of twelve million Euros for provision of quality healthcare services in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Gilgit-Baltistan.
Secretary Economic Affairs Division Noor Ahmed and Country Director German Development Bank Wolfgang Moeller signed an agreement to this effect in Islamabad on Thursday.
Minister for Economic Affairs Hammad Azhar also witnessed the signing ceremony.
Under the agreement, the German Development Bank will provide grant assistance worth 2.6 million Euros for Gilgit-Baltistan and 9.4 million Euros for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The financial contribution shall be used exclusively for the development of social health protection schemes in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Gilgit-Baltistan to provide quality health care services to the registered beneficiaries.
Speaking on the occasion, the Minister thanked the German Government for the grant assistance which will be helpful in redressing critical health-related issues in far-flung regions of Gilgit-Baltistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
He said these initiatives are truly commendable as they are geared to impact the lives of the common man.
