RAWALPINDI: The hearings of 13 cases related to the GHQ attack and the 9th May incidents have been postponed once again, while the court has scheduled a date for the accused persons to be formally charged.
The proceedings of the 13 cases stemming from the 9th May incidents and the GHQ attack were conducted before Additional Sessions Judge Amjad Ali Shah, with the presence of the public prosecutor, defense lawyers led by Malik Faisal and his team, and the accused persons.
Additionally, members of the National Assembly Shandana Gulzar, former Interior Minister and respected leader of the Awami Muslim League Sheikh Rashid Ahmed, Superintendent of Adiala Jail, Zartaj Gul, Aymat Khan, and others were present in the courtroom, where Sheikh Rashid paid his attendance and then left.
During the hearing, the trial was further postponed because the witnesses in the GHQ attack case did not appear in court. Meanwhile, copies of challans related to 23 cases concerning PTI protests on November 26 were distributed among the accused.
Furthermore, challan copies were also distributed to the accused in 11 cases related to the 9th May incidents.
Subsequently, the court adjourned the hearing of 32 cases pertaining to the November 26 PTI protests until June 3. In the next session, the accused persons will be formally charged.
