Rawalpindi: The General Headquarters (GHQ) of the Pakistan Army has written to the Government of Pakistan to form an inquiry commission, to conduct a full and impartial investigation into the death of Pakistani Journalist Arshad Sharif in Kenya.
The Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) in a statement issued here on Tuesday informed about the update.
Director General (DG) Inter-Service Public Relations Major General Baber Iftakhar also demanded thorough and high level probe into the sorrowful death of senior journalist Arshad Sharif.
The DG media wing of of Pakistan (ISPR), Major General Baber Iftakhar said that Kenyan police have admitted that the matter occurred owing to the mistake of its police.
The DG ISPR said that Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has also contacted to Kenyan President over the matter and the government is constantly in contact with the Kenyan government.
General Baber Iftakhar said that the probe should also be conducted why did he ( Journalist Arshad Sharif) compel to leave?
He said that the action should also be taken against those who are levelling allegations without any evidence.
