ISLAMABAD: Acting President Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani emphasized the strong fraternal ties between Pakistan and Azerbaijan, highlighting their enduring alliance and growing cooperation across multiple fields such as trade, investment, and energy sectors.
The Azerbaijani embassy organized a ‘Victory Day’ reception to commemorate Azerbaijan’s victory, which was attended by numerous diplomatic, political, and social dignitaries. The event featured the playing of national anthems from both countries by a military band and included the screening of a special documentary honoring Victory Day.
In his speech, Acting President Gilani conveyed that Pakistan and Azerbaijan are committed to fostering a more prosperous and resilient region. He reaffirmed the longstanding support both nations have offered each other and noted that collaboration is steadily expanding in various domains.
Azerbaijani Ambassador Khazar Farhadov expressed gratitude for the unwavering support from Pakistan and Turkey. He paid tribute to the collective backing that helped Azerbaijan achieve victory in the 44-day Patriotic War and celebrate the fifth anniversary of the liberation of occupied territories.
The celebration also featured an engaging Azerbaijani musical performance, which received widespread appreciation. Attendees marked the occasion by cutting a celebratory cake, symbolizing the significance of the event.
