Global poll finds majority across 58 nations hold negative view of Netanyahu

WEB DESK: A recent international survey conducted by Gallup International Association shows that a majority of respondents in 58 countries have an unfavorable opinion of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

The findings indicate that 61 percent of participants view Netanyahu negatively — a rise of 20 percentage points compared to 2019 — suggesting a significant shift in global sentiment over the past several years.

The survey gathered responses from people in North America, Europe, and other regions, with many participants expressing criticism of the Israeli government’s policies, particularly in relation to the Palestinian issue and the broader regional conflict. Humanitarian concerns and the impact of ongoing hostilities were frequently cited as reasons for disapproval.

Among the countries surveyed, Iran registered the highest level of negative opinion, with 98 percent of respondents expressing an unfavorable view. Several European nations also reflected substantial dissatisfaction.

In the United Kingdom, 52 percent of respondents reported disapproval, while in the United States, 42 percent expressed negative perceptions. In Pakistan, nearly half of those surveyed — 49 percent — identified Netanyahu as the most disliked international political figure.

By contrast, the poll showed comparatively stronger support in countries such as Azerbaijan, Kenya, and India. Favorable views were recorded at 58 percent in both Kenya and Azerbaijan, while 50 percent of respondents in India expressed support for the Israeli leader.
