KARACHI: Gold prices in Pakistan registered an increase on Saturday, July 18, following an upward trend in the international bullion market. The rise came as investors monitored heightened tensions in the Middle East alongside expectations that US interest rates may remain higher for an extended period.

The All Pakistan Sarafa Gems and Jewellers Association (APSGJA) reported that the price of 24-karat gold per tola climbed by Rs2,400, reaching Rs424,236.

Similarly, the rate for 10 grams of 24-karat gold advanced by Rs2,057 to Rs363,713, while 10 grams of 22-karat gold increased by Rs1,885, settling at Rs333,415.

Internationally, gold prices gained $24 per ounce, bringing the global rate to $4,018 per ounce.

Silver also posted gains in both domestic and international markets. In Pakistan, the price of silver per tola rose by Rs41 to Rs6,070, while 10 grams of silver increased by Rs36, reaching Rs5,204.

On the global market, silver added $0.41, with the international price closing at $55.91 per ounce, according to APSGJA.
