KARACHI: Gold prices in Pakistan surged to an all-time high on Tuesday, driven by escalating tensions between the United States and Iran.
As per market data, the local gold rate experienced an increase of Rs900 per tola.
The All Pakistan Sarafa Gems and Jewellers Association (APSGJA) reported that the rate of 24-carat gold climbed by Rs900, reaching a historic level of Rs481,862 per tola.
The 10-gram gold price also saw an increase of Rs771, rising to Rs413,118. Silver prices followed a similar trend, with a per-tola increase of Rs180, bringing it to Rs9,075.
Meanwhile, in the international market, gold prices rose by $9 per ounce, hitting a record $4,595.
