KARACHI: Gold rates fell significantly in Pakistan on Tuesday, with the price of 24-karat gold declining by Rs4,000 per tola to Rs449,336, according to the All Pakistan Sarafa Gems and Jewellers Association.

The rate for 10 grams of 24-karat gold dropped by Rs3,429 to Rs385,233. Meanwhile, 10 grams of 22-karat gold was priced at Rs353,143 after losing Rs3,143.

The downward trend was also witnessed in the international bullion market, where gold slipped $40 to $4,268 per ounce, the association said.

In contrast, silver prices remained unchanged in the domestic market. Silver was available at Rs6,802 per tola, while its 10-gram price stood at Rs5,831.

Internationally, silver also traded steady at $63.23 per ounce.
