Gold prices fall Rs4,300 per tola in Pakistan

KARACHI: Gold prices fell sharply in Pakistan on Saturday, following a decline in international bullion rates amid a stronger US dollar and higher Treasury yields.

According to the All Pakistan Sarafa Gems and Jewellers Association, the price of 24-karat gold dropped by Rs4,300 per tola, settling at Rs436,336.

The rate of 24-karat gold for 10 grams also decreased by Rs3,687 to Rs374,087. Meanwhile, 10 grams of 22-karat gold was priced at Rs342,925, down Rs3,380.

In the international market, gold lost $43 per ounce, falling to $4,138, according to the association.

Silver also recorded losses in the domestic market. Its price declined by Rs56 per tola to Rs6,522, while the rate for 10 grams decreased by Rs48 to Rs5,591.

Internationally, silver fell by 56 cents to $60.44 per ounce, the association said.
