KARACHI: Gold prices in Pakistan continued their downward trajectory for the third consecutive session on Thursday after witnessing a sharp increase earlier this week.
The All Pakistan Sarafa Gems and Jewellers Association reported that the price of 24-karat gold per tola declined by Rs1,700, reducing the rate to Rs441,462. Similarly, the price of 10 grams of 24-karat gold decreased by Rs1,457, now standing at Rs378,482. For 22-karat gold, the price for 10 grams also dropped by Rs1,336, settling at Rs346,954.
This declining trend was consistent with movements in the global market, where gold prices fell by $17, bringing the international rate to $4,191 per ounce.
Silver prices followed suit. In Pakistan, silver per tola fell by Rs85, reaching Rs6,000, while the price for 10 grams dropped by Rs72, now at Rs5,144. Internationally, silver saw a minor reduction of $0.85, trading at $57.28 per ounce.
