KARACHI: The price of gold experienced a significant surge in both international and Pakistani markets on Wednesday, following a day of stable rates.
As reported by the All Pakistan Sarafa Gems and Jewellers Association (APSGJA), the rate for 24-karat gold increased by Rs2,300 per tola, reaching Rs438,862, driven by a rise in global prices and consistent investor interest.
Similarly, the price for 10 grams of gold went up by Rs1,972, settling at Rs376,253, as per APSGJA data. Meanwhile, the rate for 10 grams of 22-karat gold rose by Rs1,808, reaching Rs344,911.
On the international market, gold prices surged by $23 per ounce to $4,165, reflecting robust demand for precious metals amid ongoing economic uncertainties and fluctuating currency dynamics.
Silver also mirrored this upward trend. The price of 24-karat silver rose by Rs60 per tola, reaching Rs5,482, while the rate for 10 grams increased by Rs51 to Rs4,699.
